About the program
We developed a program for dogs with Separation Anxiety
I am a certified Separation Anxiety coach /SA PRO trainer according to the latest insights.
Why Online Training?
Separation Anxiety actually works better done remotely, as your dog needs to cope with you leaving not me! Having me there can actually affect our assessment as that would not be a “normal” situation with me leaving. My aim is to assess what the dog can cope with now and we work from there.
How the training works
Our aim is to teach your dog to become confident and happy alone. The most effective way to do this is to do a gradual exposure to being left alone, working in teeny tiny steps to ensure your dog does not exhibit any fear, so they learn alone time is not scary. The training will require commitment from you, and this will certainly pay off when you and your dog have a better quality of life together
Of course you want to get rid of the problem as quickly as possible, but unfortunately there is no on or off switch.
You really need to have patience, time, love and understanding for your dog. The dog sets the pace! We cannot give a time schedule for this. You will certainly see improvements in those 3 months if you follow the directions faithfully.
What do you need to participate:
- A dog sitter in the initial phase, because your dog is no longer allowed to be alone. Every time he would be alone again (except during the practice sessions in which we are present) he goes over his threshold differently and the practice sessions are useless. I can give you tips on how to get a dog sitter.
- A video camera at home that you can connect to your PC/notepad/phone etc.
- Every week we will do one live session via Zoom and you make extensive notes of all other training sessions and send it to me, so that I can make a new training schedule for the next day.
- Practice 5 x weekly (of which we practice 1 training weekly together via the ZOOM session) and you have 2 days off / weekend! Because breaks and doing nothing for a while are also part of it. You indicate yourself when you want to train and on which days.

- Assessment test via Zoom
- 4 trainings together via ZOOM
- 5 times a week for 4 weeks long, you will receive a personal training schedule
- Daily feedback on your training exercises
- Support via WhatsApp in between sessions
- Training sheets to keep for life and information how to continue yourself with the training.
- Hand-outs on separation anxiety, your dog's body language, importance of sleeping and sniffing etc.
